International Coach Federation “I was preparing for a new executive role within my organization when I started working with Virginia. She helped me to create a very clear vision for myself and my organization and challenged me to set specific goals and take action. Very flexible and utilizing different approaches, Virginia truly enabled a shift in my own thinking that opened a whole host of new possibilities”
Sarah Shives | Assistant Dean of Students, University of Puget Sound
Contemplative Leaders in Action Program (2015-2017) "I am in awe of your talents as a facilitator & space-maker. Thank you for catching us as we started to scatter, for humoring our chaos, and for helping us manifest our collective wisdom."
Marilyn E. Gist, Ph.D. | Associate Dean
Executive Programs and Center for Leadership Formation, Seattle University “I gladly endorse Dr. Virginia Klamon. She has an exceptional understanding of leadership competencies, and a depth of experience in coaching individuals and organizations toward greater success. I have worked with her for a decade and can attest to her being the consummate professional. She is widely respected by her peers and clients. It is an honor to have her as a coach on our team.”
Michelle Clements | Vice President
Office of Human Resources, Seattle University "Virginia is a consummate professional who demonstrates seasoned judgment, integrity, and strong ethics. Virginia builds strong, trusted relationships. She is not afraid to push into conflict and work to get to an aligned resolution to ensure the work moves forward productively. She is engaging, a great speaker, convener of talent, and a true collaborator. She is a gifted strategic leader committed to the higher cause of promoting an environment where people, institutions, and communities can do great work and make a strong and meaningful impact. It has been an honor and privilege to work and partner with Virginia."
Ysanne Spevack | Composer, Food Writer & Sensory Experience Designer "Virginia worked with me over a period of six months on a TEDxTalk presentation. Virginia’s skills are strong yet subtle. They lie in her ability to know when to listen, and when to make a suggestion. She has tremendous personal integrity. She has the kind of humility that rises from quiet confidence. She’s kind, fiercely intelligent, and has a curiosity and sense of wonder that are refreshing and inspiring to be around. Also, she has patience, which is perhaps the main skill that’s needed for this kind of work. Her patience is part of the expansive quality she brought to my project."
Rachael Steward | Deputy Director
Center for Community Engagement | Seattle University "There were more than a dozen executive coaches offered to us and Virginia stood out to me. Virginia has been a tremendous gift to me as she has continued to accompany me in processing my reflection and strategic thinking to address times of crisis, opportunities for planfulness, and mapping my career path. One of the nuggets I hold onto came about as I was planning a board retreat and had an agenda packed full of material with high hopes of reaching many lofty goals. Virginia could see the unrealistic path I was on and simply asked: “Does everything have to be done in this retreat?” This question seems obvious but was important for me to highlight the long-term nature of my goals, and reinforcing that the process for leading change requires time and pacing. I have continued to work with Virginia as my primary professional development since 2014."
Tim Lewis | Organizational Effectiveness Specialist, REI (Retired) "You inspire my support. Thank you for the extraordinary leadership you've been demonstrating. You've really stepped up to the challenge of leading the [Leadership Tomorrow] curriculum committee. You're providing direction, creating alignment, and building commitment. It's been instructive to watch you work with deliberation."
Matt Barmore | Executive Director
Ignatian Spirituality Center "Virginia has a unique skill set, particularly suited to engage and inspire people interested in pursuing leadership opportunities. She does an outstanding job juggling the three important aspects of directing leadership training. She consistently articulates and leads out of a sense of mission; she takes care of important details that need to be attended to when directing a program; and perhaps most importantly, she demonstrates a very real care for those with whom she works. Virginia is herself an outstanding leader, and she possesses the unique ability to pass on those skills to others."
Jean Johnson | Civic Activist "If I ever start any enterprise, Virginia is the first person I’d want on my team.
This project was to assist a startup 501c3 organization, newly relocated to Seattle, that needed to grow quickly from a few employees with several out of state pilot programs to a fully staffed Seattle-based organization ready to deploy major funding to multiple points of service nationwide. Virginia's leadership and organizational capacity-building skills were invaluable in helping the founder envision and chart a path forward toward a fully functioning organization. Her expertise in building an organization from the ground up touched every aspect of the business. She identified the individual elements that needed to be in place in order to realize the goal of a highly functioning organization, able to deliver on its promise to serve low income students become college ready. With her extensive experience in the field, she quickly and efficiently sourced first-rate expert advice on financial systems, payroll services, human resources, IT systems and more."
Dr. Martha Maznevski | Professor, Organizational Behavior "IMD is one of the world’s leading executive education providers. We frequently hire coaches to work with our clients on specific behavioral objectives. Our environment is particularly demanding. We work with an elite group of coaches from across Europe and North America. Dr. Klamon is widely regarded by the professors as one of our top coaches. Virginia also worked with us to redesign parts of our program for women to increase participants’ ability to develop authentic leadership, and her designs are both creative and compelling."
Brooke R-H | Learning & Development Manager
Katerra "Over the past several years Virginia has been a steadfast mentor and coach accompanying me on my own leadership journey. She has supported me through launching and growing an emerging leaders program, successfully pivoting in my career, and pursuing executive coach training and certification. Her presence is palpable and a gift. She exudes warmth, peace, strength and deep, deep wisdom. She is one of the most brilliant, committed, and grounded people I know! Virginia makes a meaningful impact wherever she goes. I am a better leader and person for having her in my life."
